An Akai rep speaks to Scratchworx and gives them a full Akai MPC Fly app walkthrough. It’s going to be selling for only $299 but according to Sweetwater, Planet DJ and several other sites it won’t ship until the Summer but you can pre-order them now. Don’t sleep…

DON’T SLEEP: Akai Pro x NAMM 2012 “Akai Talks About The New MPC Range” [INTERVIEW]
Andy Mack discusses the new line of MPC’s from Akai @ NAMM complete with the all important price points. MPC Fly $299, MPC Studio $599 & $1299 for the MPC Renaissance. I’m guessing that’s USD and not British pounds or Euros. Don’t sleep…

This is the UK version of the Akai Pro promo video that features acclaimed British Hip Hop & urban music producers Tha 4orce, Rishi Rish, Steve Octave, Craigie Dodd, L.V. DON’T SLEEP: Akai Pro x 88-Keys “Introducing MPC Fly” (prod. by 88-Keys) [BEAT VIDEO]
Akai Pro has releases the third MPC incarnation (One, two, three!) of it’s new MPC series. First was the MPC Renaissance, next was the MPC Studio and third is the MPC that’s specifically created for use with the iPad 2 (and iPad 3!) called the MPC Fly. The beat video features 88-Keys and this version of the “One, two, three!” theme was produced by him as well. Don’t sleep as the NAMM convention all three products will be demo’d live at is today. Can’t wait…

DON’T SLEEP: Memorecks “Akai MPD24 vs. N.I. Maschine Mikro” [BEAT VIDEO]
Here’s Memorecks giving his recent take on the whole Native Instruments vs. Akai Pro debate. Memorecks is something of an Akai brand loyalist as he typically uses Akai’s MPD & MPK series to make beats and perform live with. He copped a Native Instruments Maschine Mikro and he gives his take on them weighing the pros and cons versus his usual setup. The whole Akai Pro vs. Native Instruments debate will continue to rage on. Don’t sleep…

DON’T SLEEP [FLASHBACK]: Kero One Reviews Maschine vs. Akai MPC 2000 [BEAT VIDEO]
The whole Native Instruments vs. Akai Pro debate has been raging on for years now but it’s really coming to a head in 2012 with Akai dropping their MPC Renaissance and MPC Studio in addition to the new upcoming iPad 2 application. I decided to post up this video featuring producer/emcee Kero One giving a fair and unbiased review of the Maschine detailing the pros & cons of it versus the Akai MPC 2000 from back in October 2010. I will be posting videos from producers weighing in on both sides of the debate all day long since the debate has the beatmaking section of the internets going nuts (no Paul Wall). Don’t sleep…

DON’T SLEEP: Akai Pro x AraabMUZIK “AraabMUZIK Checks Out The MPC Renaissance” [BEAT VIDEO]
AraabMUZIK gets his hands on the MPC Renaissance and tests it out. I can’t wait for the full demo to happen on the 19th at the NAMM conference so we know more about what’s popping with it. Don’t sleep…

DON’T SLEEP: Tasherre D’enajetic “Akai MPC Renaissance: The FACTS” [VIDEO]
The homie Tasherre D’enajetic breaks down the upcoming Akai MPC Renaissance for the people dem so there’s no confusion as to what it actually is. We’ll all see when it’s demo’d at NAMM on January 19th, 2012. Hopefully, we get to see more than a minute long promo video for the MPC Studio as well. Is it really $1499? Don’t sleep…

DON’T SLEEP: Akai Pro “Introducing MPC Studio” [BEAT VIDEO]
Akai’s MPC Studio is their answer to Native Instruments’ Maschine Mikro. It’s a 1″ thin music production controller pre loaded with 64 track sequencing software with both PC & Mac compatibility. It’s built to fuse the Akai MPC experience with the processing power of a laptop and the feel/aesthetic of a MIDI controller. I need to hear a pricepoint. We’ll see what happens. Don’t sleep…

DON’T SLEEP: Akai Pro f/Sean C & LV (Grind Music) & AraabMuzik “Introducing MPC Renaissance” (prod. by Grind Music & AraabMuzik) [PROMO/BEAT VIDEO]
Beat machine manufacturer Akai has devised a new machine to take back the market share that Native Instruments Maschine has cut into over the past 3 years or so. The new product is called the MPC Renaissance and the promo video features Boston’s own Sean C and his partner LV of Grind Music alongside fellow New Englander AraabMuzik. The promo video is dope but I’m still unclear as to exactly what it does (my brother calls me a genius moron). Go to Akai’s site as there’s a lot more developments coming soon. Don’t sleep. IT’S 2012!
