Hawthorne Headhunters (Black Spade & Coultrain) take St. Louis and bring it to Los Angeles. In 2015, that is. They’ve recorded an incredible opus of futuristic Soul & Funk called “Myriad Of Now” on their HVW8 imprint but it was picked up by LA based label Plug Research which has handled some of my favorite recent releases such by Shafiq Husayn, Quadron & Bilal. The 14 song album “Myriad Of Now” will drop in early 2012. I. CAN’T. WAIT. TO. HEAR. IT. If you (the reader) don’t know already how big a fan of Black Spade and Coultrain I am then just know that I am.
