Two of my favorite Japanese producers Budamunk (“Mokstrumentals”, “Smoke Deep” & “Blunted Monkey Fist”) and Mabanua (“Done Already”) have collaborated on a project as the duo Green Butter. The album drops December 7th on P-Vine Records and here’s the lead single and video, “Appertif”. I can’t wait for this. DON’T SLEEP: [FLASHBACK] “Mabanua Makes A Beat” [BEAT VIDEO]
Back in 2008, this YouTube video of one of my favorite Japanese producers/multi instrumentalists Mabanua surfaced. Mabanua goes through the entire beatmaking process until we reach the end result, a funky ass slap. Later on that year, Mabanua released on of the most overlooked Hip Hop/modern Soul project of the past 5 years, “Done Already”. If you slept, I’ll be your alarm clock.
