A couple of months back before “The Ghostface Beat Tape” even dropped I was going back and forth with Gadget on Gmail about what a great idea it was and how I had an idea to do the next beat tape in dedication to The Beatnuts. Gadget then informed me that he was ALREADY going to do that and I was like “Damb!”. Next thing, he told me he was looking to do a Valentine’s Day release (which became the The Beat Tape Project x PIK collaborative project “The Smooth Grooves Beat Tape”).
ATTENTION! PRODUCERS & BEATMAKERS: Create beats reminiscent of The Beatnuts sound (Psycho Les, Junkyard Juju & sometimes V.I.C. Padilla). Please spare my ears if you don’t know what that sound is or if you can’t grasp that sonic aesthetic. Beats are due in by March 27, 2012. Email your beats to thebeattapeproject[at]gmail[dot]com. The beat tape will drop on April 1st, 2012. DON’T SLEEP!
