DON’T SLEEP: BBE Records “The Beat Generation: 10th Anniversary Collection” (Compiled & mixed by DJ Spinna & Mr. Thing) [INSTRUMENTAL COMPILATION]

BBE Records‘ most celebrated series of releases amongst Hip Hop fans & beatheads is without a doubt their “The Beat Generation” line. I personally have many of the CD’s still in the rotation to this very day. This 10th anniversary double CD compilation contains 56 standout selections from production luminaries and legends such as Marley Marl, Pete Rock, J Dilla, DJ Spinna, Madlib, Kev Brown, Will I. Am, King Britt, Jazzy Jeff & Larry Gold. If you were late to the party and weren’t up on these BBE releases back when they began dropping at the beginning of the decade.

With all of the high profile Hip Hop releases that are dropping this month, I hope people don’t sleep on “The Beat Generation: 10th Anniversary Collection” which drops on March 29th, 2011 on BBE Records. Check out the full discography over at Underground Hip Hop and pre-order it or cop it when it drops March 29th, 2011.

DON’T SLEEP: Elaquent “The Midnight After” [NEW INSTRUMENTAL ALBUM]

One of my favorite Canadians Elaquent just released his brand new album “The Midnight After” on Huh What & Where Records. Make it a point to support a dude that has dropped so much quality product on us all in the past three or four years. I’m still banging all those free beat tapes from back in the days in my iPod Touch. Don’t sleep on “The Midnight After” and hit up elaquentbeats@gmail.com to get work from him (none of the beats on “The Midnight After” are available for purchase).

Git your ass to Hypedog’s site to check out their post on D-Que. He was recently a competitor in the St. Louis round of the Red Bull Big Tune competition and he’s doing work for an upcoming Soulspazm Records project. Rather than do an offshoot post I decided to just send you to the original. Also, cats need to start using both Official FM and Bandcamp more in 2011. Click the link.

DON’T SLEEP: Eternia & MoSS “To The Future ” (prod. by MoSS) [VIDEO]

If you haven’t purchased Eternia & MoSS’ album “At Last” then I encourage you to go find it either online from one of several digital marketplaces or go cop the physical copy wherever possible. Not only does MoSS do nothing but provide the perfect sonic backdrop for Eternia’s bars to bring to life but her verses actually keep it realer than those that claim to by rhyming about their past exploits. In “To The Future”, Eternia tells stories about her past involving her life, sexual abuse & past relationships that may inspire others that have gone through the same or similar things to conquer their demons. Below are the visuals for “To The Future”. Enjoy:

DON’T SLEEP: Hazel “The Lost Tapes” [NEW INSTRUMENTAL PROJECT]

French producer/beatmaker Hazel first popped up on my radar when I received a promo copy of Slakah The Beatchild’s first project back in 2008 on the song “Share”. Since then he’s continued to craft bangers and he pops up with a new project called “The Lost Tapes” via Bandcamp in order to raise anticipation for his upcoming project “Playground”. Enjoy.

If you want work from Kaytradamus hit up the homie Luigi-Bo87 of Hypedog Hip Hop or send your beat requests to kvncelestin@gmail.com . DON’T SLEEP: Suff Daddy “5×7 Vinyl Box Set” [INSTRUMENTAL PROJECT & VIDEO]

Melting Pot Music is yet another one of my favorite labels of the past few years. They’ve released a number of notable jawns in recent memory like Tobrock’s “Forrest Bump”/”Money” & “PONY”,  Miles Away “74 Miles Away”, “Puzzles”, the amazing 5 album “Hi Hat Club” series, Full Crate x Mar “Conversations With Her”, Suff Daddy’s “Suff4Life” & “The Gin Diaries”, Hubert Daviz “Proceduri De Rutina”, and several more notable one offs and singles.

This time Melting Pot Music dropped a box set of 5 7″ singles featuring some new instrumentals and previously unreleased Slum Village, Guilty Simpson & Phat Kat remixes and versions featuring Kissey Asplund produced by Cologne, Germany’s own Suff Daddy. If you’ve been reading Bloggerhouse regularly or listening to the Scrunchface Show then you’d know Suff Daddy is one of our favorites. The physical version of this box set dropped back in February and had since sold out but you can cop the digital version via Bandcamp. Enjoy the video for the lead single from this 9 song collection “GNAC” below. You’re welcome.

DON’T SLEEP: Tightface “Treasures Of The Five Boroughs” [INSTRUMENTAL PROJECT]

Alex Chase of One Handed Music alerted me to this one and I was pleasantly surprised. I had heard Tightface’s name before but never peep any of his work before the link was sent. I feel like an ass for sleeping on this but I’ll be damned if it ever happens again. The Soundcloud link should be just below (yeah, I just realized all I had to do was embed it). Enjoy:

DON’T SLEEP: Coleman & Ta’Raach “L.A. Series #9” & Exile & Free The Robots “L.A. Series #10” [NEW INSTRUMENTAL PROJECTS]

All City Records in Dublin have released some of my favorite jawns of the past three or so years. There was the 7×7 Beatstrumentals Series, Knxwledge’s “Klouds”, Onra’s “Long Distance” and let’s not forget the “L.A. Series” that’s drawing to a close with these two final releases by Coleman & Ta’Raach then Exile & Free The Robots. The entire “L.A. Series” showcases the premiere beatmakers and producers currently in Los Angeles. All 10 releases are occupying space in my illustrious iPod Touch as I write this very piece.

Get your heads out of your asses (assuming that they’re there of course, if not just assume that I’m an asshole that’s really passionate about music) and cop these two releases post haste. Also check out All City Dublin’s entire back catalog. Thank you.

DON’T SLEEP: B.Lewis “Science Within Reason” [FREE INSTRUMENTAL PROJECT]

B.Lewis‘ “Science Within Reason” is 30 tracks of HOLYFUCKINGSHITGODDAMNMOTHERFUCKER. This is the textbook definition of scrunchface music rightchea. I try to refrain from headbutting Sunday school teachers like a damb soccer hooligan when this jawn is playing in my Sony MDR-NC7’s. Ladies, you may or may not get pregnant listening to this music. With or without a partner even being present so take a pill or strap up or whatever the hell you ladies do. Love synths? Love drums? Love melody? Download “Science Within Reason” right now then you dumbass! Wooooooo! © Ric Flair
