Alchemist (also half of Gangrene & Step Brothers) has been down with Soul Assassins since he was a teen & a member of the group Whooliganz with Scott Caan. He began producing jawns for artists like Buc Fifty (formerly of Da Wascals), Swollen Members, Dilated Peoples, Group Home, The High & Mighty & Defari early on before he started to raise eyebrows with his production for Mobb Deep. Now Alchemist has been an influence to many of the go to producers of this era while still making heat and touring with Just Blaze on their Soundclash Tour. DON’T SLEEP: M Slago “M Slago Files” [NEW PIK MEMBER BANDCAMP PAGE]
M Slago has been on radar for a while. It all started when I was talking about up & coming producers on Twitter back in 2009 and @guerillamilk sent me a message saying I forgot about M Slago. I decided to look into who M Slago was I was impressed with what I heard. As time passed he sent me a folder of beats that ended up being featured on The Scrunchface Show at different intervals and he also produced the opus known as the “Rampage EP” which also ended up receiving frequent plays on the show.
When I was trying to determine who I should add to the squad there were certain beatmakers and producers that just stood out in my mind and M Slago is one of them. I think he has a bright future and judging by his body of work and his current trajectory, he’s only going to get better.
