I posted this 11 slap 17 minute scrunchface inducing beat tape up three days ago but when I clicked the link on my FaceBook page it said that the original post didn’t exist. That pissed me the fuck off so I’m making yet another post for it. DO. NOT. SLEEP. ON. THIS. BEAT TAPE. It’s less than 20 GB’s and it’s bananas. Expect to hear some of these blaps on the upcoming Scrunchface Show…

DON’T SLEEP: P.L.O. vs. Wrecking Crew (Has-Lo x Zilla Rocca x Curly Castro) “The Heat (American Language Rmx)” [SINGLE]
I posted up the P.L.O. produced Sonnyjim & Mudmowth featured banger “The Heat” from my UK peoples almost exactly one month ago back on Producers I Know. Today, I present the equally ill American Language Remix from my extended Philly fam Wrecking Crew (Has-Lo, Zilla Rocca & Curly Castro). Think “Broken Language” x “Lefleur Leflah Eshokska”. DON’T SLEEP: Renegades Of Bump “Ritmo Kovos dalis.2” & “Ritmo Kovos #1” [INTERNATIONAL BEAT COMPILATIONS]
Two weeks ago, Renegades Of Bump posted a Lithuanian beat compilation from it’s most talented up & coming producers and beatmakers called “Ritmo Kovos #1” with a gang of ill blaps on it for $5 that I just saw again on Finest Ego. I remembered that I’d downloaded a previous Renegades Of Bump beat tape for free on the MacBook back when my 15″ PowerBook G4 almost exploded on me earlier this winter. I found “Ritmo Kovos dalis.2” still unzipped on the hard drive from January 12th, 2011. I listened to it and said “Sheeeeeeeit” © Clay Davis. Don’t sleep on Lithuania. They ain’t just good at basketball…

DON’T SLEEP: Edo. G “Stop It” (prod. by Max Mostely) [VIDEO]
Hip Hop legend Edo. G has been in the game for 25 years now and his new album “A Face In The Crowd” drops next week. This video for his new single “Stop It” is filmed in Roxbury, a part of Boston that those damb “Boston movies” seem to neglect even though it’s in the heart of the city. No need to have bridges visible in any shots because it’s actually filmed in Boston. Proof? Look at all the brown people! *shots fired*. Ed hangs around the Humboldt area and he even hits up a couple of record stores (Skippy White’s & A Nubian Notion?). Watch the video. Buy the album. Salute Boston. See y’all at the Boston Hip Hop Unity Fest on the 21st…

DON’T SLEEP: Trinity (A.G. x Sadat X x DJ Jab) “20 In” (co-prod. by Kris The Katalyst & DJ Jab ) [VIDEO]
The first time I ever heard about the trio of A.G. (D.I.T.C.) , Sadat X (Brand Nubian) & DJ Jab (Fat Beats) called Trinity was back in 2009. Since then they’ve dropped a tribute to Grandmaster Roc Raida, a tribute song to the birthplace of Hip Hop called “The Bronx” and a song about longevity in the discipline of Hip Hop called “20 In”. The video is below and expect a Trinity LP on Fat Beats in late 2011. That explains why A.G. & Sadat X were chillin’ around Fat Beats last month on Record Store Day, huh? *Smacks forehead*

Ci’iy Life. Go here because it refuses to imbed…

DON’T SLEEP: Beatowski Beats “Beat Tape Vol. 0” [FREE BEAT TAPE]
Last year, Latvia producer/beatmaker Beatowski was featured on The Scrunchface Show quite often after “Beat Tape Vol. 1” & “Beat Tape Vol. 2” dropped in late 2010. I’d lost track of Beatowski during the Scrunchface Show’s hiatus so I wasn’t able to play any of it when it dropped back in February as I was planning our Dilla tribute show. I forgot to post it since my bitchass 15″ PowerBook G4 had a serious kernel panic & I moved this folder to an external USB Firewire drive. I found & listened to this last night after the disappointing Celtics overtime loss. Here it is, Beatowski Beats “Beat Tape Vol. 0”. Enjoy…

DON’T SLEEP: Shag “Volume 9: Separation” [BEAT TAPE]
Shag has created an incredible ongoing instrumental series dating all the way back to December 2009. I personally didn’t catch on until he dropped “Vol. 6: Beatnik” in December 2010 and I was impressed to say the least. Shag dropped “Volume 7: Palette” & “Volume 8: Take-Out” in January and February then nothing in March or April. I figured that he was young and he decided to focus on school or what have you. Then he came back with a vengeance a few days ago with “Volume 9: Separation”.
I guess he went through a break up? In any event, it makes for great music. Shag is a teenaged producer with a job as a cashier and a ton of potential so let’s do what we can to help homie cop a Native Instruments Maschine, shall we? Donate to his PayPal @ garsidetogo@gmail.com

DON’T SLEEP: Panama Red “Unlimited” [INSTRUMENTAL PROJECT]
Panama Red is better known as @redontheMP to me on Twitter. I got his instrumental project a while back on my 15″ PowerBook G4 before it began having Mac OS kernel panics again. I took every folder off of it and moved it to my trusty Eagle Tech Consus external Firewire USB drive and forgot about it until today when, by chance, I had to go digging for the original mp3 from my original Scrunchface Show broadcast. This is dope! Check out Panama Red’s “Unlimited”. Damn, I slept!

DON’T SLEEP: BostonBeatdown “The Truth Is…” [FREE BEAT TAPE]
Local producer/beatmaker Chris Girolamo dropped this beat tape as a collection of slaps he made on an MPC 2000XL over the past couple of years. Someone shot me the link on Twitter a while back and I downloaded but the computer I had it on died so I moved everything on it to a hard drive last month. While searching for the original mp3 from last year’s first ever archived Scrunchface Show I actually found this beat tape on my USB Firewire drive and gave it a play. Nice! © Borat. Enjoy Boston Beatdown “The Truth Is…”. Go Celtics!

DON’T SLEEP: UBQTS “The Beat Tape” & “Dig.” [BEAT TAPES]
While I was exploring the far reaches of the wondrous machination we call the internet at 6 AM I discovered a Bandcamp that belonged to a Brooklynite beatmaker/producer that goes by the handle UBQTS. The first offering I heard was simply titled “The Beat Tape”. After playing it a couple of times I decided to move on to his his more recent release, the Jazz inspired beat tape called “Dig.”. Needless to say, I was impressed and I decided to post them up here.
I didn’t get to post like I wanted to this weekend because I was so busy do other things so I’ll just fix that by spending most of today catching up and showcasing more jawns that deserve some shine. More beat tapes and instrumental projects are on the way, people.
