Yeah, turns out that my German isn’t that good after all. I thought that the new Hulk Hodn x Hubert Daviz “Kaseta” double LP vinyl release happened today. Nope, it’s just the day pre-orders begin as the project will officially drop on November 4th, 2011. Oddly enough, Pre-orders will ship by or on October 21st, which is dumb early. You’ll have to wait until November 4th for the digital release, however…
This tape based collaborative instrumental project will be released on double vinyl. Four sides, 23 slaps produced and then distributed and two dying mediums in a digital age. I love the idea. Between September 15th and October 15th we enter into what’s now universally known as Cuffing Season. Like myself and D-Man (and anything awesome for that matter) Cuffing Season has it’s roots in Massachusetts. It was pioneered by a young man who became a Massachusetts nautical legend and Black History Month trivia question answer Paul Cuffee. Rather than wait for the traditional courting season (which began around Thanksgiving in the colonies), he began pursuing ladies right after the Summer ended and the weather changed. Many men discovered that they were late when they went courting because another man had used “Ye Olde Cuffee” and claimed her already in either September or October.
