My laptop kernel panicked like crazy not too long afterwards so I forgot about said project. Fast forward to about a week ago. I got an email from Abstract Cannon to check out his “Primary Consumer EP” on Crash Symbols. Guess what project is looking me in the face again? Blackbird Blackbird’s “Halo”. Of the many producers I know, one I’ve known of for about 15 years is illadelph rep Chops formerly of Mountain Brothers. He’s made beats for many of your favorite artists, provided the music you heard while watching ESPN, made music for commercials you loved and even made slaps you loved watching shows like Saturday Night Live. In any event, Chops uses live instrumentation in his sonic soundscapes and he got his hands on some Lil’ Wayne acapellas and here’s “Sorry 4 Your Producers”. Don’t sleep.

My brother is trying to make the 15″ & 17″ PowerBook G4’s educational laptops for the niece & nephew so my niece was rockin’ to what was left on the iTunes, that jawn being among them.
I just saw that Amin Payne recently dropped a new beat tape called “PayneOdyssey” on his Bandcamp that might be even iller than the “Curtis Mayfield Tribute” beat tape. I got hit up immediately by the homie Luigi-Bo of Hypedog & we chopped it up about some beatmakers & the Maschine before he asked me if I was familiar with a cat named Side Brain or his album “On The Second Moon Of Earth”. I told him “No”. Luigi then told me he uses a damb Dreamcast controller when making beats and sent me a video. I was floored.
Next he sent me a link to one of Side Brain’s live showcases @ Tha Beat Down last week. I then spent the next 30 minutes watching Side Brain videos and I began listening to his album.
