Team PIK‘s Jon Phonics had one hell of a 2011. M Slago hit me up on Gmail towards the end of November and we talked about his newborn son Gideon for a minute then I asked him if he wanted to drop a project on Producers I Know in December. He told me that he already had one 95% done and Senor Kaos was about to rhyme on one of his beats to finish it up. He told me he’d have a single for me and cover art within the next couple of days. Next thing I know I’m uploading “Dolemite” with Headkrack of the Bodega Brovas to my SoundCloud page and it’s all over the internet in 24 hours. Now it’s getting played all over internet radio. Team PIK member Pete Cannon is an unadulterated musical genius. As a kid & young teen I often used a Commodore 64. I had the tape drive, disk drive and a 300 baud modem before we balled out and copped a 1200 baud modem years later. Even when I spent years playing “Dr. J vs. Larry Bird” and “Omega Race” I NEVER ONCE imagined that 25 years or more later a producer across the pond would find a way to modify one into a synth for Dubstep/Wobble. Here it finally is! “Cuffing Season Has Returned” is the official soundtrack to the Fall and Cuffing Season all contained in one ambitious instrumental project. The beats came courtesy of wunderkind producer D-Man and the sequencing, song titles and overall project concept was all my idea. “Cuffing Season Has Returned” is a chronological beat tape so to speak walking you through the stages of Cuffing Season. It gets colder, the boots come out you get your holler on. Then the thigh high boots come out and it gets even colder and you realize that it’s time to step your game up a few notches before all the cuffworthy and cuffable ladies done been cuffed up.
