Sure the cover art looks like a character design to the “Fantastic Planet” sequel but the long awaited One Handed Music release “Rapping With Paul White”is finally available for streaming and purchase. Paul White (“The Strange Dreams Of Paul White”, “Sounds From The Skylight” & “Paul White & The Purple Brain”) has remained a consistent figure over the past 4 years. Whether it was his vinyl singles or his full length releases, everything he’s dropped has been a heat rock.”Rapping With Paul White” is no different.
From the off kilter, bugged out compositions to his rawest slaps (i.e. “The Punch Drummer”) Paul White has run the gauntlet. After hearing the Guilty Simpson collaboration “Ancient Treasure” a while back, I often wondered what an entire album of vocalists over Paul White beats would sound like. I just recently saw an email from Futuristic in my Gmail inbox and I thought to myself “Didn’t I post his beat tape up on one of those days I did like 12-20 posts?”. I went back and checked August to discover that I actually never posted his beat tape up. This really bothered me because I remember starting a post for “Seeb1 Beats” after hearing it a while back.
I checked to see if I’d liked it on Facebook yet (which is common practice right before I post up a beat tape or project to keep track of what I’ve posted). I hadn’t. Where is it? Right there in my Drafts folder…from 17 days ago. My bad. DON’T SLEEP!

This is the 10th and final beat tape of a series that I wasn’t previously aware of and the only one that seems to be on Bandcamp. Fakts One is a DJ, turntablist & producer from the Boston area that was also a member of The Perceptionists along with Akrobatik & Mr. Lif. You may remember when Vast Aire said he just got two ill beats from Fakts? He was referring to Fakts One (and not “Fax” as the documentary says in the subtitles).
Just before The Perceptionists went on tour for “Black Dialogue”, Fakts One decided no to go. Instead Slopfunkdust then Paten Locke DJ’d the tour. In 2008, Fakts One’s “Long Range” project was finally released (I reviewed it) and was well received. About a week ago something interesting happened…
I was on Gmail & I saw Fakts One was following me on Twitter. I was like “Oh shit!” and I followed him back. A few days later I saw a press release and a link for a new Fakts One beat tape called “The Chop Shop” in my inbox. I pressed play and was very impressed by what I’d heard.
