DON’T SLEEP

DON’T SLEEP: Bamboo Bros (Dave Dar x Kurious) “American Jibaro” [PROMO VIDEO]

Bamboo Bros. (Dave Dar x Kurious) upcoming album on Benchmark Music “American Jibaro” will feature appearances from Pete Rock (“Beyond The Sensation”) & Talib Kweli  (“Let It Go”). “American Jibaro” showcases 12 tracks spanning 45 minutes that’ll become the perfect soundtrack to this summer. The album is stepped in the traditions of Hip Hop including digging for those old Soul records we heard at the block parties, cookouts and house parties back in the days. “American Jibaro” is as much a celebration of New York & the urban Latino experience as much as it is a celebration of Hip Hop and the DJ. I’ve been listening to this album for close to a year now and I can’t wait for the rest of the Hip Hop listening audience to finally experience it, too…

DON’T SLEEP: Seize Beats x Mad One “7 Daze A Week” [ALBUM + INSTRUMENTALS]

German producer Seize Beats (what up, Berlin?) & Texas emcee Mad One (what up, San Antonio?) both used the power of the internet and decided to make a project where every day Seize made or sent a beat to Mad One and he would in turn around and make a song out of it. At the end of a full week (seven days for the extremely slow), they had completed an ill project. Add in the instrumentals and you have “7 Daze A Week”. The final product is 18 total tracks, 10 songs and 8 bangin’ instrumentals. Expect to hear some of these jawns on future broadcasts of the Scrunchface Show. Don’t sleep!

DON’T SLEEP: Inphy “Stretch Me Up” [VIDEO]

Czech beatmaker/producer Inphy (who’s also one of Hypedog’s Underdogs & appeared on their compilation “Hypedog presents The New School Beat Tape 2010”) just sent over his new video for his slap “Stretch Me Up” off of the free collaborative “Dilla: The Tribute” project he, Dubas & FNTM were a part of. The video is just below. Enjoy:

DON’T SLEEP: Bugseed x ill.sugi “Flipping Formats” [BEAT TAPE]

Bugseed has been dropping links to all of these ridiculous beat tapes this past week and he just did it again. Here’s a collaborative beat tape Bugseed made with Japanese producer/emcee ill.sugi. The end result? “Flipping Formats”. I just wish this jawn were longer. Go get it, dummy!

DON’T SLEEP: Naive Machine “Basket Bass Beat Tape” [BEAT TAPE]

Team PIK member Naive is a certified beast at this production shit (Trust me & my iPod Touch. I KNOW). One of his upcoming projects come under the guise of Naive Machine. Last year he dropped the automatic headnod inducing “Basket Bass Beat Tape” showing off his skill at Dubstep, Bass and Electro leaning production. Back in January, he also dropped a mix called the “Naive Machine 2011 Sampler Mix” to get people prepped for his upcoming “Robot Ramification EP” dropping soon.

Naive’s “Robot Ramification EP” will be dropping soon on Hit And Hope Records.  They’ve previously released the bangers “Cement Mix”/”Jump Luigi”“Sept I Share” which are up on the Hit And Hope Bandcamp page. Expect a full post on Producers I Know when Naive Machine’s “Robot Ramification EP” becomes available for purchase. Don’t sleep on Naive!

DON’T SLEEP: Mute Speaker “Smart Bomb” [INSTRUMENTAL PROJECT]

From Brighton in the UK comes Mute Speaker, he decided to drop this ambitious instrumental project with an experimental leaning sound to the masses via Bandcamp and the Liquid Noise label. “Smart Bomb” bangs true to it’s title and renders those that slept on it dumb by proxy. Don’t sleep cuz ya might slip! © Sadat X

Our UK Beat Fanatic family member Kelakovski has made that crack for several notable artists on both sides of the pond in the past. We’ve established the fact that Kela’s got that crack already early on in the life of Producers I Know. Now here comes Kelakovski again to hit you all off with some free samples to freebase so he’ll get yo’ asses hooked and guarantee himself some repeat customers (in the industry we call them “fiends” or “crackheads”). We present to you all “Kela Got That Crack 2011” via his Soundcloud link right below and a Sendspace mp3 link via Hypedog Hip Hop. The choice is yours! © Dres. NOW LET THAT BOY COOK! DON’T SLEEP: Kokayi “8BIT ubermentals” [FREE BEAT TAPE]

The homie Kokayi who dropped the critically acclaimed “Robots & Dinosaurs” on QN5 Records recently graciously offered the people dem a free instrumental project containing several slaps he made between 1995-2003 on a Roland W-30. Holy shit, I remember those! You can stream and download “8BIT ubermentals” here. A’ight…Chill.

DON’T SLEEP: 100 Akres “I Love Loosies” [BEAT TAPE]

Freshnerd of 100 Akres has made many of our favorite beat tapes over the past year plus. Now he’s back with a collection of 11 jawns that were from projects he’s worked on in the past that for whatever reason never materialized. You can download the entire collection here. Enjoy:

DON’T SLEEP: Jazzo & Melodiesinfonie “Treeology EP” [INSTRUMENTAL PROJECT]

Feelin’ Music (What up, Chief?) artists Jazzo & Melodiesinfonie have done their countyman and labelhead proud by becoming an extremely impressive production team in a short time. If you consider that these guys only started working together as a unit in 2010 then this EP becomes even more impressive. You can’t front on Jazzo & Melodiesinfonie’s “Treeology EP” anymore. It’s simply not allowed…

DON’T SLEEP: Cloud “Hang + Bang” [BEAT TAPE]

Yet another outstanding instrumental  joint that Bugseed put me onto via Twitter. This Brooklynite puts 24 jawns together into a nice beat tape that’s well worth the $5 price tag. You can hear Cloud’s “Hang + Bang” here. Don’t sleep, folks…

DON’T SLEEP: Nick Wiz “Cellar Sounds Vol. 2 1992-1998” [COMPILATION]

On May 17th, No Sleep Recordings dropped a 41 song compilation that chronicled many of the early works from the distinguished career of producer Nick Wiz (Nickle Plated Productions). This is the second such compilation of his boardwork from the period of 1992-1998 (Encompassing the 2nd Golden Era and the beginning of The Backpack (Indie) Era). If you’re a con of this kind of classic production or this musical aesthetic then cop it right now @ UGHH.com.

DON’T SLEEP: Idasa Tariq “Live From The Cellar Vol. 1” [BEAT TAPE]

I typically spend my time at this hour of the day outside or digging through the internet for some new beat tape or instrumental project dropped somewhere in the world where I don’t even understand the language written on the website or messageboard. By chance, I decided to check my email and this jawn just happened to be in my inbox. Idasa Tariq “Live From The Cellar Vol. 1”. This is ridiculous, B! 14 soulful slaps all crafted by Pittsburgh area (he claims Binghampton) emcee producer Idasa Tariq. This jawn BANGS, too. I’ll buy that for a dollar! © Old comedian dude from Robocop. DO. NOT. SLEEP.

DON’T SLEEP: Falside “Beats For Spring” [BEAT TAPE]

My boy Falside from Providence (of Poorly Drawn People) just dropped an ill beat tape for the Spring season that you can cop in physical from for a limited time only. He sent me a Vimeo promo video for this project a while back that wouldn’t imbed for whatever reason and so I failed at helping him with promotion. I’ll try to alleviate that problem with this post. Cop his new “Beats For Spring” beat tape and earn an automatic place in Heaven. Seriously. Why would I lie?

DON’T SLEEP: Freeverse “Beats Freaks & White Sheets” [FREE BEAT TAPE]

When you’re up @ 4 AM you’re bound to find some ill ass beat tapes and instrumental projects online. I lucked into stumbling across Freeverse’s Bandcamp where I heard “Beats Freaks & White Sheets” (although the cover plainly says “Freaks Beats And White Sheets”) and I was like “Oh, for real?!”. This has been “Liked” on Facebook & posted on Producers I Know. I should definitely see it on a lot more sites after today as well…

DON’T SLEEP: Digi Crates Records presents “Beats & Bullets: A Soundtrack To A Shootout” [INSTRUMENTAL PROJECT]

Yesterday was so chaotic with all of the new releases that this one almost might have slipped right through the cracks. Digi Crates Records dropped an instrumental project featuring several ill producers such as Roc Marciano, Kyo Itachi, Miedlev, King AL, Mok Vurban, Tape-Roc & DJ Kryptonite. The album concept is that each beat is composed so that they’d be theme music to a cinematic shootout. It’s bananas! You can cop it from iTunes or at local worldwide spot (I’m in Boston) UGHH. Don’t sleep on this one, people! An example of why you shouldn’t has been conveniently provided below:

DON’T SLEEP: Random Axe (Sean Price x Guilty Simpson x Black Milk) “The Hex” (prod. by Black Milk) [VIDEO]

Like I wrote on Twitter not too long ago: Random Axe body spray won’t be in a can. It’ll come out of a GUN. The video for “The Hex” is just below:

DON’T SLEEP: mezzo “Why Not Nothing? EP” [INSTRUMENTAL PROJECT]

The last experimental ambient electronica wonky Dubstep inspired beat project I’ll post today, mezzo‘s “Why Not Nothing? EP”. I dig it so I decided to post it on Producers I Know. Wanna fight about it?

One.

DON’T SLEEP: DZA “Five-Finger Remixes” [INSTRUMENTAL PROJECT]

DZA’s Error Broadcast release has been remixed by some of the most prominent names in the beat culture such as Pixelord, AEED, Krampfhaft and several others that would have have my regular readers saying “Is that even a name or did someone just step on the keyboard?” In any event if you’re a fan of beats or experimental music in general you should check this out @ Error Broadcast’s Bandcamp page.

DON’T SLEEP: Sesshins “Forest Folk” & “Sesshins” [FREE BEAT TAPES]

Sesshins dropped two short experimental beat tapes just recently via Bandcamp. To some of you this shit will be hot and to others you’ll feel like your ears are revolting against your brain. Only way to figure out at which end of the spectrum you are is to listen first. Sesshins “Forest Folk” & “Sesshins” are both just a mouse click away (do people still even have mouses?)…

DON’T SLEEP: Bloggerhouse x Producers I Know x Timeless Daimyo Music presents ST/MiC “In The Pocket” [FREE ALBUM]

It was about a year ago that our boy from Virginia, ST/MiC (who’s also a world renowned well respected emcee, DJ/remixer/producer/beatmaker/engineer as well) told us to he copped an INTUA.net iPhone app called BeatMaker and a synth app called Noise.io then proceeded to make an entire project using them. We heard a few of the original rough tracks on our first ever archived edition of the Scrunchface Show and Eric & I both went nuts over them. Whenever that project was done, we were definitely going to feature it on Bloggerhouse.

Several months later, ST/MiC sent me 9 instrumental tracks that were going to serve as the skeleton of “In The Pocket” and asked me what I thought of them. I told him that some tracks he should get his rappity rappin’ ass friends to spit on and others he should allow to just rock on their own. I also suggested what kind of emcees should rock and on what tracks. We had a follow up phone conversation the next day and we agreed. MiC went back and recruited some emcees over his production…done all on an iPod Touch.

In early 2011, ST/MiC sent me an early WAV version of “In The Pocket” without cover art featuring scratches, bars and hooks from Moka Only, Jazz Addixx, Has-Lo, Praverb The Wyse, Primo The Cinematic & Waterloo. MiC decided to include all the instrumentals as well. Good call. A month later, MiC sent me a tagged, mastered mp3 version of “In The Pocket” with some gorgeous cover art. Given the recent success of the Producers I Know sponsored instrumental or producer based releases I knew that I’d be dropping this on both Bloggerhouse and Producers I Know. I can’t wait for you all to hear it as well.

In conclusion, the wait is over. I’ve done all the write ups I needed to. We’ve even played some of the beats on The Scrunchface Show. You’ve heard the single. Now hear the completed album. 15 total tracks, 6 with vocals from Jazz Addixx, Praverb The Wyse, Moka Only, Primo The Cinematic, Has-Lo & Waterloo. All 6 vocal tracks have instrumentals provided plus bonus instrumentals “Sumr” & “No Subshine”. I’m proud to finally present to you all ST/MiC’s “In The Pocket”. Enjoy:
