DON’T SLEEP: Floyd The Locsmif “Interludez And Essentialz” [NEW INSTRUMENTAL PROJECT]

Floyd The Locsmif first came to my attention back when my old partner in rhyme Vanguard did work on O.C.’s “Starchild” LP for Grit Records and Floyd The Locsmif was also one of the producers on the project. Since then he’s become a favorite producer of mine and his “Divine Dezignz” series and remix albums are the stuff of legend. As we wait for “Divine Dezignz #3: Dirty Canvas” to drop, Locsmif blesses heads with “Interludez And Essentialz” via Bandcamp. Cop it.

Willie Evans Jr. & Paten Locke of the group Asamov/The AB’s are both two of my favorite emcee/producers hands down. As Dumbtron they still make music as well as do broadcasts from their site The Nerdy South. New shit coming soon from High Water Music. Don’t sleep…

DON’T SLEEP: Blackberry Jones f/yU of Diamond District “The LifeLine” (Installment 1) [VIDEO]

Back in December 2009, on Rappers I Know I saw a video of BlackBerry Jones do some of the illest chops I seen live in recent memory. He’s back at it but this time he’s pulled the lyricist yU of Diamond District fame (“In The Ruff” & “Before Taxes”) to spit over his creation. The result is illmatic. If you want to keep up with Blackberry Jones follow him on Twitter. Installment 2 soon come…

DON’T SLEEP: Ron Dance x Nameless “Flidelphia: The In Crowd” [FREE ALBUM]

Ron Dance is a Philadelphia transplant that lives in Detroit. He’s a member of the group 101 with Marv Won & Ro Spit. He’s made a couple of projects that I’ve reviewed in the past. He wears vests. He has a Dominican barber on call 24/7 who has clippers and trimmers with laser mounts on them. He also has a Ustream show that I often tune into just to crack on him. All that said, he has yet to make anything I didn’t like. This project he made with Bloggerhouse favorite & Scrunchface Show regular, producer Nameless is NO different. I present to you all Ron Dance x Nameless “Flidelphia: The In Crowd”.

DON’T SLEEP: Peace Of Mind x The Beat Illz “While My Akai Gently Weeps” [PIK EXCLUSIVE/FREE INSTRUMENTAL PROJECT]

I first heard a track from this project months ago and I was absolutely blown away. I played it on The Scrunchface Show and the response was crazy. I played another slap from it the following week and I’m proud to announce that Peace Of Mind just hit me off with the new completed project titled “Peace Of Mind x The Beat Illz “While My Akai Gently Weeps” based around the music of The Beatles which are one of my favorite all time groups. This project is so amazing that I was late uploading it because I was listening to it so much. Real talk. Without any further ado, Producers I Know presents Peace Of Mind x The Beat Illz “While My Akai Gently Weeps”. Enjoy. One love to Street Justice, Inkster, Ann Arbor, Ypsilanti, Flint & Detroit for all the love over the years. Don’t think for a second I haven’t noticed…

DON’T SLEEP: St/MiC “Solar March” [NEW INSTRUMENTAL ALBUM]

St/MiC is a highly respected DMV (Washington D.C./Maryland/Virginia) area jack of all trades with a tremendous work ethic and a worldwide reputation. He’s a well renowned multi instrumentalist, DJ, remixer, producer, sound engineer and emcee with a fanbase that stretches from Onancock, VA to Okinawa, Japan. He’s also one of the most selfless guys I know. I can give firsthand testimony to the many times he’s saved our sorry asses by being the technical side and the co-host of Bloggerhouse presents The Scrunchface Show.

His discography includes highly acclaimed releases such as “On My Days Off”, “Life’s Work”, “Honest Music” and “Sleeping” in addition to his lyrical and production contributions to several other projects. This particular LP “Solar March”, is an aesthetically pleasing instrumental opus in the vein of previous works from St/MiC or his work with Tha Connection or Jazz Addixx.

The blend of classical Soul music and Jazz elements in St/MiC’s production creates a final product that will appease not only the casual instrumental music fan, but the dyed in the wool Hip Hop head equally. All it takes is to hear smooth selections such as “No, Really, Listen”, “All In One”, “Rain Dance”, “Combinations”, the driving “ComboTime” or title track “Solar March” to realize this one of St/MiC’s best instrumental offerings to date.

St/MiC’s new instrumental LP “Solar March” is now available for purchase via Digi Crates Records and can be found on iTunes, Amazon, eMusic, Juno, Beatport, Napster and several other digital music marketplaces worldwide. Don’t sleep…

DON’T SLEEP: Eric Lau “Quadrivium” [NEW INSTRUMENTAL ALBUM]

Bloggerhouse favorite, Scrunchface Show regular and UK producer Eric Lau (“New Territories“, “Kilawatt V2 EP” & “Makin’ Sound“) recently blessed the listening public with his newest instrumental offering “Quadrivium” on Kilawatt Music. If you can hear this album and manage to still sleep on it then you must either be deaf, completely devoid of funk or a corpse. Hopefully, all three. You can find “Quadrivium” wherever quality music is sold in both digital and physical formats. You’re all very welcome.

DON’T SLEEP: Apollo Brown “Clouds” [NEW INSTRUMENTAL ALBUM]

Apollo Brown had an incredible 2011 and judging by “Clouds” he’ll have a great 2011 as well. It’s already been Bloggerhouse approved and it drops on iTunes exclusively 2.22.2011 but everywhere else on 3.1.2011. This instrumental project is yet another sonic quantum leap from the man who previously brought us the stunning instrumental offerings “Skilled Trade” and “Make Do”. Mark my words, “Clouds” will be regarded as a great project years from now, trust me on this. I’m usually right about this kinda shit, after all.

DON’T SLEEP: Kaimbr x Kev Brown “Alexander Green” [NEW ALBUM]

What do you get when you combine one of the most slept on emcees in the game with one of the best emcee/producers of the past decade from one of the illest crews in Hip Hop period? A muthafuckin’ banger, son! Kaimbr x Kev Brown (Low Budget Crew) present to you all “Alexander Green”. If you heard the LMNO x Kev Brown “James Brown” creation for “Selective Hearing 2” then you understand the potential for illness that awaits your ears.

DON’T SLEEP: Ciph Barker f/DJ MP “La Familia” (prod. by Beat Butcha) [SINGLE/VIDEO]

Straight outta the Netherlands comes the second installation of the Rottz series. Last year’s jawn opened a lot of eyes worldwide just off the production alone and this year’s edition “Rottz Vol. 2” is no different. Even if you don’t understand what they’re saying the flow and production is hella hard to deny. Yet another ill blap from Beat Butcha. He’s going to have one hell of a 2011 by my early estimates. Don’t sleep, the YouTube video containing the new jawn “La Familia” is below. Enjoy:
