So back when Elusive was making his “Beat Placement” LP on Fly Definition he sent a few beats to my boy ST/MiC who shot them right back hella quick. ST/MiC was sent even more beats and the same damb thing happened quite again. I was sent the project months ago and asked to listen to and then name it. I picked the name “Use Your Elusion Vol. 1” but ST/MiC picked “Preserves”. “Preserves” won out and here’s the cover art for the upcoming project with a sampler for the people dem. Don’t sleep!

In the UK there’s a beat challenge that’s been taking place for years called King Of The Beats put on by a number of UK Hip Hop legends that I grew up admiring and listening to from across the pond. Pritt Kalsi has made a 2 hour plus documentary explaining the formation and evolution into the present day King Of The Beats challenge and the documentation of the July 16th beat battle between young UK beatmakers/producers Agor, Hi Soul & First Hand.
Do you want to see the Hip Hop still lives? Do you want to know who took the crate? Do you want to see a plethora of US & UK Hip Hop legends? Do you want to spend two hours watching cats talk records, beats and the aesthetics of crate digging, Hip Hop production and it’s culture? Then get yourself to The Find Magazine and watch the whole “King Of Beats” documentary directed by Pritt Kalsi right now. This jawn made my morning. DON’T SLEEP!

Sir Froderick told me about a month or so ago that he, Knxwledge, Mndsgn, Swarvy, Josh Hey, Stainless Steel & Cold Seltzers played a show back in June where they each played a set live with reworked Miles Davis compositions from “Bitches Brew”. Being that at one point there was an unwritten rule that you weren’t supposed to flip “certain” classic jazz albums (i.e. “Kind Of Blue”, “My Favorite Things”, “Bitches Brew”, etc.) they decided to call it “Blasphemous Jazz”.
I’ve had an ID3 tagless version of these same WAV’s & mp3’s on my MacBook iTunes Library for more than a month but now YOU all get to finally hear how absolutely genius this is for yourselves. Salute to Stainless Steele for laying down bars over some of the sets as well. I present to you all, “Blasphemous Jazz”. DON’T SLEEP!

A few days ago I was sent a link to a post on the site Hip Hop King based in the Netherlands alerting me to a 17 track beat tape/instrumental compilation. I downloaded said file directly from the site and pulled the cover image so I could make my own post on Producers I Know.
What instead happened was the download refused to archive all the way and I only got 13 of the 17 tracks. then when I went to make a post of it on Producers I Know, the image type wouldn’t upload to WordPress due to “security reasons” (a bmp file). I ultimately said “Fuck it!” and decided to do another post instead.
I was on Lowkey’s site You Heard That New and I saw THIS post from a few days ago. Apparently, he switched it to a Hulkshare link & changed the cover art from bmp’s to png’s (which are WordPress friendly). That’s the first (and only) time Producers I Know will be beaten posting an international beat tape or an instrumental compilation. Don’t sleep!

This new instrumental project by Musk consists of nothing but samples from obscure records acquired via constant digging in the crates. Even the cover art is sampled from other album covers. The concept album is called “The Definition Of Sampling” and you should visit the Bandcamp directly to read Musk’s own words on it’s intended aesthetic & creation. Enjoy & DON’T SLEEP!
