DON’T SLEEP: Black Milk x Jack White “Brain”/”Royal Mega” [NEW MUSIC]
So…two of my favorite musicians/producers collaborated recently. Jack White (formerly of The White Stripes) and Black Milk. Let me explain, I was a White Stripes fan from jump. When Jack produced the Von Bondies I was like “WORD!”. His side projects with The Raconteurs and The Dead Weather are among my favorites. I even saw “Coffee & Cigarettes” partly because I knew RZA & GZA would be in it alongside Jack & Meg White. I’ve also seen “The White Stripes: Under Blackpool Lights” and “The White Stripes Under Great Northern Lights” in addition to “It Might Get Loud” which has been on my Neflix instant queue since it became available. I’m a fan. Obviously.
The story of Black Milk and Jack White getting together @ Third Man Records in Nashville to record and the audio itself is over @ Black Milk’s site. Salute Black Milk, Rosalinda, Daru Jones, AB & Malik Hunter. “Brain” & “Royal Mega” are fuckin’ epic. Cop ’em. DON’T SLEEP!

Alchemist (also half of Gangrene & Step Brothers) has been down with Soul Assassins since he was a teen & a member of the group Whooliganz with Scott Caan. He began producing jawns for artists like Buc Fifty (formerly of Da Wascals), Swollen Members, Dilated Peoples, Group Home, The High & Mighty & Defari early on before he started to raise eyebrows with his production for Mobb Deep. Now Alchemist has been an influence to many of the go to producers of this era while still making heat and touring with Just Blaze on their Soundclash Tour. Yesterday was so chaotic with all of the new releases that this one almost might have slipped right through the cracks. Digi Crates Records dropped an instrumental project featuring several ill producers such as Roc Marciano, Kyo Itachi, Miedlev, King AL, Mok Vurban, Tape-Roc & DJ Kryptonite. The album concept is that each beat is composed so that they’d be theme music to a cinematic shootout. It’s bananas! You can cop it from iTunes or at local worldwide spot (I’m in Boston) UGHH.
