DON’T SLEEP [FLASHBACK]: Louisden Beat Cypher #7 f/Apatight, Naive, Dockmini & Knox Brown [BEAT VIDEOS]

Here is some classic footage of Louisden Beat Cypher #7 from September 2009 shot by AB0181 featuring Team PIK members Apatight, Naive AKA Naive Machine, Dockmini & UK beatmaker Knox Brown. This shit blew my mind when I first saw it back in ’09 and now I’m privileged to work with these cats and help spread their names worldwide. Don’t sleep!

DON’T SLEEP: Jomac “Jomac Files” [NEW PRODUCERS I KNOW MEMBER PAGE]

We first had Jomac appear on an early episode of The Scrunchface Show. SFS #30: The Exclusives Show to be exact. I remember Jomac being nervous but his music spoke for itself. I was floored. Enough so, that I closely monitored his progression from that eye opening showcase. When I made the (no brainer) decision to select M Slago for Team PIK last month, I knew the obvious decision for the next spot had to be Jomac based on his incredible output since last December.

We hit heads with a little misdirection by posting up his sickening new beat tape on Bandcamp earlier today to throw y’all off the scent but please officially welcome Jomac to Team PIK. Salute Team PIK. Jon Phonics. Apatight. Pete Cannon. Dockmini. Naive. D-Man. Shag. M Slago. Jomac. So far who to add has been a no brainer and on August 12th we announce the 10th member of Team PIK. Salute Jomac. Welcome to the crew, fam!

DON’T SLEEP: Producers I Know x Peace Of Mind “Laces Out” [BEAT TAPE]

It’s now officially July 11th, 2011 so we will unleash Hell on the blogosphere/bloggerverse in the guise of this 35 slap monstrosity titled “Laces Out”. Peace Of Mind did all the work, I just provided the venue. Just know that this jawn is ridiculous and well worth the wait. The weekend is your reward for your work week. “Laces Out” is your reward for surviving your weekend.

You can work out to it. Shit, if you’re gully you can even fuck to it (Good luck with that, though. You need to find a girl that wears Timberlands in the summer for that one…)

Oh yeah…it ain’t over muthafuckas! © O’Shea Jackson. More jawns coming from J57, Aspect One, Falside, the official announcement of the newest PIK member @ midnight July 15th and some other surprises. DON’T SLEEP: Slopfunkdust “Beat Fanatic Vol. 2” Preview [SCREEN CAP]

According to Beat Fanatic HNIC Slopfunkdust this is how the upcoming “Beat Fanatic Vol. 2” is shaking thus far (according to him it’s not even finished yet). Take a look at this:

That lineup looks downright insane. If you don’t remember how ill “Beat Fanatic Vol. 1” was then I feel sorry for your mothers. We played that album for 6 months straight on the Scrunchface Show during it’s infancy. We need to get Slop on the show soon. Maybe even this Tuesday? Fuck it, why the hell not?

DON’T SLEEP: M Slago “M Slago Files” [NEW PIK MEMBER BANDCAMP PAGE]

M Slago has been on radar for a while. It all started when I was talking about up & coming producers on Twitter back in 2009 and @guerillamilk sent me a message saying I forgot about M Slago. I decided to look into who M Slago was I was impressed with what I heard. As time passed he sent me a folder of beats that ended up being featured on The Scrunchface Show at different intervals and he also produced the opus known as the “Rampage EP” which also ended up receiving frequent plays on the show.

When I was trying to determine who I should add to the squad there were certain beatmakers and producers that just stood out in my mind and M Slago is one of them. I think he has a bright future and judging by his body of work and his current trajectory, he’s only going to get better. Go check out his “M Slago Files” Bandcamp page and welcome him to Team PIK & Producers I Know.

DON’T SLEEP: D-Man “Son, I Had Crazy Visions!: A Guide To Rockin’ N*ggas This Summer” [INSTRUMENTAL ALBUM]

After the departure of Jeeks from Producers I Know, I knew I should look for more producers to add to the squad. I wondered how I should reach out to first among the wide pool of available candidates and the first name I thought of was the young emcee/producer D-Man from nearby Brockton, MA that broke the record for most closers on The Scrunchface Show.

When I told D-Man I wanted him to send me tracks to upload to Producers I Know for his profile he sent me more than 30 WAV’s in 6 different folders. I listened to all of them and I heard something in 15 of them that made me put them in a separate folder. The rest became what was featured on his D-Man Files Producers I Know Bandcamp page.

Shortly after seeing and hearing his new PIK page, Danny told me that he wanted to make an instrumental project/beat tape soon. I told him that I already HEARD one in the remaining beats he originally sent me. We brainstormed and decided to go with a summer theme, I immediately went back through the beats and I sequenced them so that they told the story of a typical summer day in Brockton, MA. After about 2 days, I’d come of with a good sequence & I presented it to Danny. He made some suggestions so I changed some things around and resent it to him…

Danny thought about the theme and the title and told me that the project needed a proper opener. He’d been working on a flip that just screamed “Summer” that was giving him some difficulty but it would make the perfect opener. D-Man spent all night perfecting a beat that ended up being the leadoff track “I’mma Rock N*ggas This Summer”. The 16 tracks were re-ordered and it was done. Now you all get to hear the official soundtrack to beginning of the summer season. Go listen to & download D-Man’s “Son, I Had Crazy Visions: A Guide To Rockin’ N*ggas This Summer” courtesy of Producers I Know and Bloggerhouse. Enjoy.

DON’T SLEEP: AssociatedMinds x EatGood Records “The Highball EP” [FREE ALBUM]

Two of my favorite UK collectives/extended families teamed together to create mindblowing music. AssociatedMinds. EatGoodRecords. It’s like the X-Men AND Avengers said “let’s join forces”. HOLYFUCKINGSHIT. “The Highball EP” is everything I expected it to be and much, much more. “The Highball EP” features the vocal talents of Sonnyjim, Mudmowth, Kosyne, Ralph Rip Shit, Redbeard, RTKal, Ruffstylz, Taharka and Willo Wispa. Production is handled by the highly capable team of P.L.O. AKA P Leezy, Metabeats, Kelakovski, Dockmini, Myke Forte and Beatbox Fozzy.

Don’t sleep on AssociatedMinds OR EatGood Records anymore. I don’t see how you can now. The body has fallen out of the trunk and we can’t pretend it didn’t happen and we all didn’t see it. Now wake your asses up & go download “The Highball EP”.

DON’T SLEEP: Naive Machine “Basket Bass Beat Tape” [BEAT TAPE]

Team PIK member Naive is a certified beast at this production shit (Trust me & my iPod Touch. I KNOW). One of his upcoming projects come under the guise of Naive Machine. Last year he dropped the automatic headnod inducing “Basket Bass Beat Tape” showing off his skill at Dubstep, Bass and Electro leaning production. Back in January, he also dropped a mix called the “Naive Machine 2011 Sampler Mix” to get people prepped for his upcoming “Robot Ramification EP” dropping soon.

Naive’s “Robot Ramification EP” will be dropping soon on Hit And Hope Records.  They’ve previously released the bangers “Cement Mix”/”Jump Luigi”“Sept I Share” which are up on the Hit And Hope Bandcamp page. Expect a full post on Producers I Know when Naive Machine’s “Robot Ramification EP” becomes available for purchase. Don’t sleep on Naive!
